So, I've been working on my "DeepForest" biome today... I'm still not sure about the result, but I thought I just share some pictures of it.
As to the idea behind this biome... Do you remember the story of Hansel and Gretel? The forest they walked in was supposed to be really thick and dark. Evil things under every stone, witches, and weird noises everywhere. It's supposed to be really dangerous and a place you don't want to be at - at least at night. In the daytime it is supposed to be beautiful, lots of flowers and sunshine coming trough the leaves - but still a little creepy.
I made some really big trees out of oak and dark oak logs, with lots of leaves to make the forest kind of dark. There are still some nice holes in the roof here and there, so it's not too dark. But there should be some spawns even during daytime.
Of course there are some pretty glades with lots of flowers, too!
Maybe little kids go there to pick some flowers... and maybe they sometimes stumble upon tiny huts made out of sweets, too...
This hut will actually spawn a named witch once, if you kill it there won't be another one.
During nighttime this biome will get even more dangerous. Those ores you see in the next picture have a custom spawner in it, which will spawn some really nasty forest spirits
Next to this biome is a plains biome. I just like the way the forest looks from a distant
There are some mountains, too, but I'm still not very happy with them.
And that's it for today. This biome is still WIP and not even close to being done I still need to fix up the mountains and the rivers, fix the mob spawns and add some more blockchecks for the trees. And some ob the custom bo3s are nowhere to be found - I guess I need to check the rarity for them, too
