For all those which would quickly zap pages because the complexity of my previous tutorial, Good news!
After perfecting the metod myself I have came up with an ever easier way to do the branching numberzzz, maze-ish thing.
For the full tutorial ( Part 1 & Part 2 ) visit: http://www.craftrealms.org/bo3-custom-structure/ ( Will soon be updated to match this tutorial branching part )
Part 2: The Branching
This part may be considered as advanced since it looks rater complicated
and might be complicated at first to understand but once you got the
hang of it, it will be a piece of cake!
Step 1: Paint the corrosponding chunks in this table: ( Like a blueprint)
Step 2: Number the painted chunks: ( Make sure above is north ingame! )
Step 3: Determine the center of the chunk by looking at it and paint it red. ( No need to calculate the absolute center ) This chunk will be used to spawn the whole custom structure.
Step 4: Open up the center chunk bo3 file ( In this case 17 ) Scroll all the way down of the page, add in a empty line by pressing enter and add the following line:
Step 5: Double check the name of your bo3 and replace BranchName with the bo3 name.
Step 6: check where branchName16 is located relative to the center chunk. In this case branchName16 is located left of the center. Since you made sure up is north left should be west.
Step 7: Since we are using chunks in the 16x16 format we will only use the numbers 16 in the X,Y,Z coordinates. for BranchName16 which is located west of the center we should use: Branch(-16,0,0,branchName16,NORTH,100) Here is a small table for reference:
North = 0,0,-16
East = 16,0,0
South = 0,0,16
West = -16,0,0
Step 8: If im correct you guys should be thinking ahead of the tutorial now and have the following branches ready and set to write down:
Step 9: Paint the branches you included into the center red like this:
Step 10: Let's open up branchName16.bo3 and scroll all the way down. There we will put the following branches:
Step 11: Paint the branched chunks red again, you should end up with this:
Repeat this with all chunks until no blue chunks are left.
Step 12: place all your Bo3's into your WorldObjects folder and put CustomStructure(branchName17,100.0) into your biomeconfig. Make sure the surrounding biomes have CustomStructure() otherwise chunkfails may occur!
- Use CustomStructure(branchName17,100.0) to ensure spawning the first time!
- Do not ever use blockchecks! This WILL occur in missing chunks!
- Always use SpawnHeight: randomY otherwise chunkfails WILL occur
- Use MaxHeight: and MinHeight to determine the spawnheight of the custom structure!
- These notes are for people wo do not yet understand Bo3 Custom Structures completely. If you are way ahead of this please ignore the last notes since without these rules way more complicated Bo3 Structures could be created. ( Please take this seriously, since even I am still a slave to these rules )
