Some of you may notice a few interesting new things in this photo. Updates coming soon
This is not a stable release notice, just a notice of what's coming down the pipeline. As usual, anything off of the build server should be considered unstable. If you do wish to dabble, build #100 includes the features/changes/fixes listed below.
UseTemperatureForSnowHieght: By Default, all snow is 1 layer high. When this setting is set to true, snow height is determined by biome temperature and therefore height. For now: A block temp > -.5 yields a single snow layer. A block temp < -.75 yields max snow layers. All values in the range -.75 < temp < -.5 are evenly distributed. Defaults to
False. This was in the biomeConfig a couple commits back, it's a little more user friendly when set on a per-world basis.
BetterSnowFall: By Default, snow falls on the highest block only. Setting this to true will cause snow to fall through leaves but leave a little snow on the way. Defaults to
FullyFreezeLakes: By Default in cold biomes, lakes freeze but only water exposed to sky is frozen. Setting this to true causes any lake in a cold biome with at least one block exposed to sky to completely freeze. Defaults to
CooledLavaBlock: Block used as cooled or frozen lava. Set this to OBSIDIAN for "frozen" lava lakes in cold biomes. Defaults to
STATIONARY_LAVA. NOTE: This has a setting in both World and Biome configs and follows the same behavior as WaterBlock and IceBlock when using the UseWorldWaterLevel setting.
- Resource generation is now ordered. The hope is that this helps with population consistency. It certainly cleans up the config a little when it gets written back out. The order in which resources appear in the config after being written to the file is the order in which they will run. This shouldn't cause any noticeable world changes to creators of new worlds but this could cause gaps in existing worlds BEWARE
ReplaceBlocks has changed slightly. In an effort to prevent missed replacements we now process certain parts of a chunk twice, this should make standard replacements consistent with far fewer missed replacements. The downside is that something like this:
(SAND,GRAVEL),(GRAVEL,DIRT), will yield unexpected results. Sand will occasionally turn into Dirt, around 50% of the time in large swatches.
General Bug Fixes
- Lava lakes are no longer effected by the freeze mechanic which matches the behavior of the vanilla minecraft generator. Unless, of course, you set the new CooledLavaBlock setting to something other than
I'm sure I've forgotten something but, there it is...
